A quick intro...

Hi all!

Welcome to my first blog post, I thought I would start with a bit about me and what this is all about.

So firstly a bit about me...

I have worked in hospitality and coffee for a long time in many different areas. Coffee (along with food and other drinks) has been a passion of mine for as long as I remeber. At the end of last year I sold my cafe and dove back into construction and trade industry. This was motivated by the birth of my cheeky son Ollie and wanting to have a better work life balance (anyone that has owned their own business, especially in hospitality will know it’s very, very hard to maintain a good balance, you work weekends, holidays, days, nights and whenever the business throws some unexpected problems your way). Since leaving the industry I have kept myself connected to it through education, sharing ideas and knowledge with like minded people. I have continued completing specialty coffee courses to further my knowledge and kept a goal to learn one new thing every day.

With all the above in mind, I’ve decided it’s time to start sharing all that I have learned over my years in the industry to help others make great coffee and hopefully learn more myself on the way while connecting with great people like those reading this now.

Below is a pic of little Ollie, getting right into his babychino, he’s not quite ready for caffeine yet, and honestly with how much energy he has, I’m not sure he will ever need it. He has definitely got my passion for everything food related already. He is already eating more than a lot of adults I know 😂.

About the blog...

Now that we are through all that personal intro stuff (I have to be honest, I always struggle at those tell me a little about yourself exercises they make you do in group activities). It’s time to delve into the fun stuff, coffee! I want this blog to be as much about the readers and what they want to get from it, so if you have any suggestions, areas of coffee you want to know more about, problems or issues you need help with and really anything else, please speak up and let me know.

Happy brewing, stay caffeinated and let’s travel this journey into the world of specialty coffee together 😎.

Cheers,

Lars Wallasvaara

Aka someone way to obsessed with coffee.
